PostSubject: Blackwings and How to Play Them Part 1   Fri Jul 06, 2012 1:13 pm

Blackwings at one point were top teir and are currently second tier.
This means they may not be the best deck at tournaments but they still do well.
Here I'm going to give a little description of EVERY blackwing card and some of the support, along with a description of the card and its effect, of my own making.
Also will have commentary and how many should/could be run in a deck.
Lets do this

Blackwing - Abrolhos the Megaquake
Commander of the war against the Gem-Knights, Abrolhos was once offered a position as an Armor Master.
He turned it down so he continue to fight on the frontlines alongside his troops.
Spoiler:

His prowess on the battlefield is actually greater than that of an armor master, though he lacks their elite training.
With this in mind his skills are great enough so that when he srtrikes an enemy it is never fatal.
With his powers he can obliterate any spell or any trap, though this takes quite a toll and causes a great deal of fatigue.

Spoiler:

Blackwing - Aurora the Northern Lights
During the campaign against the ice barrier some warriors say they saw this legendary blackwing.
Shortly after the Grand General Silverwind appeared and layed waste to the Ice Barrier's forces.
If you ask the General, he was never there.
Spoiler:

Legends tell of a Blackwing who flew too high and by chance he was brought into the Sanctuary in The Sky.
There he learned of the War beetween the Archlords and the Darklords for control of the sanctuary.
The blackwing was unfortunatly weak and had no skills to aid them but Krystia, the leader of Archlords, came to him and bestowed his blessing.
With the blessing of the Archlords the blackwing could tranform himself into the greatest of champions, if only for a short time.
No one knows if the Legend is true, but every story always holds a grain of truth doesn't it?

Spoiler:

Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North:
Blizzard was a medic in the Campaign against the Ice Barrier.
Without his aid none of the Armed Wings hurt in Trishulas's assault would have survived
Spoiler:

One of the greatist medics in the history of the Blackwings.
They say he can bring a blackwing back to the battlefield no matter what happend to them, even death.
Effect:
Spoiler:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Bora the Spear
A Blackwing that aspires to become an Armed Wing.
Whenever the Blackwings are at war you can be sure Bora's on the frontlines.
Spoiler:

Wherever a Blackwing is in battle Bora has a habit of showing up, his lust for battle is unparalleled.
They say his spear can peirce any armor, even the shroud of the Spirit Reapers that sometimes come for the souls of fallen warriors.
Effect:

Spoiler:

Blackwing - Boreas the Sharp
Boreas is a retired Armor Master.
He now resides in the capitol and trains future Armor Masters.
Spoiler:

Blackwing Elders tell stories of Boreas when he was an Armor Master unlike any other.
Instead of mearly nullifying an opponents attack, he sent it back at them.
Others sometimes try to copy his technique but no one has every actually managed to replicate it.
Some say he helped to create Ally of Justice Catastor, no one knows for sure.
Effect:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Breeze the Zephyr
A young cadet who doesn't take his training seriously.
He might have potential, but no one has been able to tap into it yet.
Spoiler:

Though Breeze is normally carefree, he cares for his comrades and will always come when his name is called.
He's quite adept at giving pep talks in the heat of battle.
Effect:
Spoiler:

Commentary:
Spoiler:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Brisote the Tailwind
A blackwing elder.
In his prime he was a capable medic, but now he can only teach the new generation.
Spoiler:

Towards the end of his carreer as a medic Bristole would rush to the aid of any cry for help, only to arrive too late.
He was getting along in age and could not move as fast as he used to.
Where once he could save a fallen warrior with time to spare, he was now arriving to see them already dead.
Some Blackwings say they have seen Brustite wandering the streets of the capitol late during the night.
If you ask him about it Bristote would just look towards you with sad eyes and say, he heard someone cry 'medic', but when he got there they were gone.
Effect:

Commentary:
Spoiler:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Calima the Haze
The oldest living Blackwing
They say he is a veteran of the Elder Wars against the Hopless Dragons.
Spoiler:

Those that have seen the eldest in combat say that you might catch a glimse of his former glory if you fight alongside him.
The only people who have caught this glimpse were medics.
Cornered animals seem to fight with more ferocity, Blackwings are no exception.
Effect:
Spoiler:

Commentary:
Spoiler:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Damascus the Polar Night
Recently returned from the front lines in the Ice Barrier.
He trained alongside Kalut to become capable of strengthening is comrades.
Spoiler:

Although he has the same magical abilities as Kalut, his training was interupted by the Call to Arms against the forces of the Ice Barrier.
Due to this his abilities aren't as great as Kalut's though they have the risk (I'll put more info on this in Kalut's description)
Effect:
Spoiler:

Commentary:
Spoiler:

Verdict:
Spoiler:

Blackwing - Elphin the Raven
He was once an Armor Master, but his dishonorable and brutal nature caused him to be demoted.
There are rumors that he attempted to stage a coup and overthrow Silverwind but there is no solid evidence.
Spoiler:

In battle Elphin has been seen drawing power from his allies in order to disrupt his enemy's defenses.
Such sorcery is forbidden in the armed forces due to the effects on those whose power is tapped into.
It is unknown where elphin learned his techniques.
Some say he made a journey to the Dark World and made a pact with Grapha.
No one knows for sure.

Thus ends part one of my epicly long Backwing guide,
This is suprisingly fun to write, especially the obscure ones nobody uses.
I intend to have this go into 3 parts
part 2 finishes all the blackwings.
part 3 does the support.
Might have more parts depending on how long it takes.
Hope you enjoyed,
please comment on the descriptions and whether you liked them or not and add other random tips for the card's I've covered.
I WILL cover all other Blackwings,
thanks
Mrbiff, the Long Winded

comment on the first card.

What

The

Fudge

...
...
...

there's a reason you never seen it in action. that's cuz of the 2 required tributes it needs to be summoned. and nobody in his right mind uses that in a competative BW deck.

oh, and for our Gusto BW quarrel, I found a solution. we reign together.

I'm doing all of the blackwings one at a time.
For the gusto thing I guess that works....

I stand corrected on the first card Razz

With those 2 tributes, it makes the use of Vayu sync in grave faster and can summon DAD easier Razz Plus BLS and Chaos if you run a light bw engine Razz

It also has some damned useful effect :3 Return and return, makes traps go stupid, I say xD

Besides, BW's tend to swarm the field fast Razz so it makes it easier to normal summon Razz
